Number 61
The sixth seal is the heavenly signs and the seventh seal is the wrath of God.
The one hundred forty and four thousand of Revelation 7 are sealed after the signs of the sixth seal before the day of the Lord’s wrath begins.
Study Revelation 6:12-17 and chapter 7.
In I Kings 19, Elijah thought all the Lord’s servants had been killed. He also thought he was the only one left and thought they were going to kill him also.
This was not so for the Lord had reserved for Himself seven thousand who had not bowed unto Baal. Even Elijah and Satan did not know about these seven thousand.
These seven thousand were reserved by the Lord to work under Elisha.
There will come a time in the near future when the Elijah to come will be like the first Elijah. He will think all the Lord’s servants have been killed. He will think he is the only one left and that they are also going to kill him.
Revelation 13:15, “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
This will not be so for the Lord will leave for Himself one hundred forty and four thousand servants alive to go into the millennium.
Study Revelation 7:1-8.
The Lord will show all living, especially Satan and his angels, His unequaled power and might by preserving the one hundred forty and four thousand without their knowledge.
These one hundred and forty-four thousand are sealed before the start of the seventh seal.
These one hundred and forty-four thousand are spoken of in Revelation 7:1-4 and in Revelation 9:4.
Revelation 7:1-4
1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
2 “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,”
3 “Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”
4 “And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
Revelation 9:4, “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”
The one hundred forty and four thousand of Revelation 7 will go into the millennium.
Who Are the ‘One Hundred Forty and Four Thousand’ in Revelation 14?
The first fruits spoken of in Revelation 14 are in a place of safety during the time of this tribulation as shown in Revelation 3:10 and Revelation 12:14.
Revelation 3:10, “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
Revelation 12:14, “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”
The first fruits number one hundred and forty and four thousand as shown in Revelation 14:3-4.
Revelation 14:3-4
3 “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.”
4 “These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”
The one hundred forty and four thousand of Revelation 14 will make up God’s Church which will be the Bride of Christ.
Revelation 19:7-9
7 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
8 “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."
